Getting RSS Feeds in Azureus
1) Download and install Azureus
http://azureus.sourceforge.net
2) Get the RSS Feed Scanner plugin onto your computer.
- Go to
http://azureus.sourceforge.net then click to the plugins list page.
- In the "Automation" section, click RSS Feed Scanner
- Click the blue frog (
)
to download
- Save the .zip file to your hard drive
3) Install the plugin
- In azureus go to the Plugins menu and select "Install Plugin..."
- Select "By File" and click next
- Select the file you just downloaded
4) Add feed to be downloaded
- Find an RSS feed. Here's some you can check out:
- View the RSS Feed plugin: In azureus select the plugins menu, then "RSSFeed"
- The RSS Feed Scanner plugin tab will open, it will have some tabs of its
own, select the "Options" tab
- Click the green plus sign to add a feed url
- Grab one of the above URLs by right clicking on it and selecting "Copy
Link Location" (in Firefox) or "Copy Shortcut" (in IE)
- Go to the URL line of the new feed, right click on the blank part, and
select "Paste"
- Put a name for it in the first line
- Check "Enabled"
- Click the "Save" button
5) Setup feed to be checked
- In the RSS Feed Scanner plugin tab, on the options sub-tab, click the
plus sign to add a filter
- In the new form that comes up on the right enter a name
- Pick the directory you want your media to arrive in
- If you want to get every episode on this feed enter something common to
all episode's files (like a period) on the filter line
- Ensure that "set state to queued" is selected
- Enter a category you want these feeds to appear in, I generally type RSS
to separate it from other torrents.
- Select the feed you want the filter to apply to, probably the one you
created in the last step
- Set type to "None"
- Check "Enabled"
- Click the "Save" button
Now you should automatically receive new media as it is put in the feed.
Sit back and enjoy. (Don't forget to leave azureus running)
